A BIT ABOUT ME

Ansley Juan (She/Her) was born in Secaucus, New Jersey and moved to North Carolina when she was 8. Since then she has always been involved in theater in some way, shape, or form. Starting as an actress she attended Central Academy of Technology and Arts. It was there that a special effects makeup artist visited her class which sparked her passion for wig and makeup design. Combining her love for makeup and theatre Ansley started attending Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Arts at Webster University in 2017. After completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2021, she went straight west to start her career as a Wig Stylist and Technician. Her first summer out of college was spent at the Utah Shakespeare Festival as a Wig Technician and Run Crew member. Continuing with her passions she worked for the Milwaukee Repertory Theater as their Wig and Crafts Assistant. Using the diverse skills she picked up, Ansley was able to branch out into different areas of her talents. She taught a wig and makeup course at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaulkee, worked outside contracts for other local theaters, and helped style and maintain wigs for student productions. After dedicating 2 years to the Utah Shakespeare Festival and Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Ansley headed back home to North Carolina. Her most recent work was at Flat Rock Playhouse, the State Theater of North Carolina, as their Wig and Makeup Supervisor/ Designer. During the off season she works at Childrens Theater of Charlotte helping the props and costume departments.
